TLD 25 ✨ Nerd Nite 🐣 Parlor Tricks 🪄 & Cheesemonger Showdowns 🧀
Hey friends,
Welcome to the 25th edition of The ‘Low Down!
A little events recap: I made it to three from last month’s list — all hits!
💘 Love Isn’t Blind — This live dating show was absolutely hilarious. I already grabbed tickets for the next one on June 27 with a few FOTN (friends of the newsletter).
🇵🇰 How to Embarrass Your Immigrant Parents — The U.S. tour just wrapped, but if Abby brings this one back, I can’t recommend it enough. So funny and heartfelt.
🧠 Mindplay — A mentalist show that had me questioning everything. It’s running through May 11 if you want to check it out!
By the way, I'm trying something new for the next few months — each edition, I’ll pick one event to attend and invite you to come along! For April, it’s Uptown Showdown on 4/15. Let’s catch the show and grab drinks nearby after — hope to see you there.
PS: I am headed to New Orleans tonight to celebrate FOTN and BOTE’s (boyfriend of the editor) birthday so I am making a last minute call for recommendations! As subscribers of The ‘Low Down, you all obviously have good taste sooo… send them my way!

The popular comedy debate series invites two teams of funny folks from the worlds of stand-up and late-night television to tackle topics of great importance to pop culture, such as which pet is superior—cats or dogs—and is it better to be comfortable or fashionable? The verbal sparring and all-around absurdity only stop when the audience decides the winner.”

Upon entering, you will experience an all-you-can-eat cornucopia of cheese featuring some of the finest purveyors from around the world. From Cheddar to Gruyere, it will be there. As well as things like mac and cheese, raclette and "perfect bites" of cheese created by the participating cheesemongers. We are talking so much cheese that you will definitely eat too much so pace yourself and come hungry. The main event is a cheesemonger vs cheesemonger competition where the people who sell you cheese will literally battle as they showcase job related responsibilities like cutting, wrapping and rapping about cheese. Imagine 1,000 people chanting "Moo Baa Maa" and celebrating a perfectly cut quarter pound of cheese as if the US Women's Soccer team just scored a goal.”
